The St. Joseph Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has trained volunteer teams that meet with people who call our emergency hotline.
If you are in need, or know someone who is, please call our hotline:
Why do we do home visits?
We wish to maintain the dignity of our neighbors in need - "we visit as brothers and sisters, as neighbors, as friends, as representatives of Christ's Love."
We want to expedite assistance to our neighbors - No need to stand in line, arrange for transportation, take off of work, or pay a babysitter.
We meet with them in person to better understand the real situation. That allows us to be in a position to serve them not from afar, but sincerely and intimately and to personally acquaint ourselves with the wants and needs of their situation.
By going to a family's home it better protects the privacy of our neighbors- We arrive as friends, neighbors. No need to go out in public to seek assistance.
We see the face of Christ in those we serve.
The St. Joseph Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul has partnered with CCF Bank to develop a credit builder program for our neighbors in need. To become eligible for a Micro Loan, one must be referred by a home visit team. The loans range from $300 - $1,000 and are low interest. The CCF bank offers a Financial Education Class which would lower the interest even more, but it is not required.
